About Mr. Bäß

Moritz Bäß studied mechanical engineering at RWTH Aachen University from 2014 to 2020, specialising in textile technology and general mechanical engineering. He focused on lightweight construction methods and simulation. During his studies abroad at RMIT University Melbourne, he specialised in the field of sports technology.

In his master's thesis, he investigated the feasibility of steel rotor blades for wind turbines with the aim of making them more sustainable and cheaper.

Since 2021, Mr Bäß has been employed at the Institute as a research assistant. He is involved in the development of numerical calculation methods for lightweight construction. His expertise is applied in the VAeroWind, Steelblade and ULAS-E-VAN projects.

Activities at SLA: Steelblade, ULAS, numerical methods
