About Mr. Grubert
Felix Grubert studied mechanical engineering at RWTH Aachen University between 2013 and 2020, specializing in aerospace engineering. In his project and bachelor thesis, he worked on the assembly and experimental testing of modular satellite structures as part of the iBOSS project. From 2018 to 2020, Mr. Grubert worked as a student research assistant at SLA, where he expanded his expertise in the field of space structures. From 2018 to 2019, he was team leader of the student project AMPEX and successfully participated in the first Field Campaign of ESA_Lab@CH "Igluna - a Habitat in Ice" in Switzerland. Based on his experience in dealing with ice, Mr. Grubert focused on the development of an electro-mechanical de-icing system for general aviation aircraft as part of his master thesis and proved a first feasibility.
Since September 2020, Mr. Grubert is a research assistant at the Institute of Structural Mechanics and Lightweight Design. In this position, he demonstrates profound knowledge in the field of construction and design of aerospace systems. As part of his work as a research assistant, he is in charge of the E-SAT project and also studies the mechanics of ice.
